Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy
Sophie is an experienced osteopath with over 18 years in clinical practice, known for her thoughtful, patient-centred approach and strong focus on whole-body health. Her work is grounded in the principle that the body’s structure and function are deeply interconnected, and that, when supported appropriately, the body has a remarkable capacity to heal and regulate itself.
Sophie has a particular interest in paediatric and women’s health. In 2012, she completed a Graduate Certificate in Neonate and Infant Manual Therapy at Victoria University, and has since undertaken extensive further training in areas including infant feeding and breastfeeding challenges, unsettled babies, plagiocephaly, tongue-tie assessment, and orofacial myofunctional therapy.
Her broader professional development spans functional breathing, primitive reflex integration, adolescent musculoskeletal care, lymphatic health, endometriosis, gait and running assessment, and foot biomechanics. In 2024, Sophie further expanded her expertise by completing advanced training in orofacial myofunctional therapy. This modality provides a valuable framework for assessing and managing temporomandibular joint (TMJ) dysfunction, supporting airway health, and optimising facial growth and development.
In 2024, Sophie volunteered in Bali with the Hands with Heart Foundation, providing osteopathic care to children with disabilities. This experience reflects her commitment not only to clinical excellence, but also to using her skills in meaningful and impactful ways beyond her day-to-day practice.
Outside the clinic, Sophie leads an active and busy life with her three children. She enjoys spending time outdoors, travelling, camping, and playing netball, interests that help inform her practical, lifestyle-focused approach to patient care
